Our involvement with the Jumping Jenny business began in 1991 when we took over a run-down tea-room overlooking Coniston Water in the English Lake District.
After twenty-four years, the market and the business has changed. We needed to move on and to develop the business.
A loyal customer had been asking us for years to supply the Jumping Jenny products to Swarthmoor Hall in Ulverston. So when the time came to leave Brantwood, this gave Jumping Jenny a wonderful opportunity.
The Barn Café at Swarthmoor is charming – we are proud to have that as an outlet for our product. We also deliver food locally.
Whilst locations my change one thing that will always remain consistent, is the standard of our food at Jumping Jenny.
It wouldn't be our Best Caramel Shortbread if we didn't simmer the caramel on the Aga for three hours, or tamp the base to give the ideal density for the perfect 'crunch'.
When it comes to food we are obsessed with just that; ensuring that every detail from the first spoon, to the final smothering of chocolate, is the best we can possibly make it.
If you live, or are staying on holiday, in the South Lakes area, we will deliver to you (in proper dishes, suitable for a dinner party or family supper) classic Jumping Jenny favourites including; Lasagne; Moussaka; savoury flans; a variety of vegetarian dishes and much more.
On the sweet side, we offer a range of our favourites including; Tarte au Citron; Pear & Almond Flan; and Jumping Jenny's own Sticky Toffee Pudding.
